The Special Topics Adult Class meets in Sigler Hall (the large dining room in the basement). Faith Lessons: On the Early Church is the fifth video in the Faith Lessons seven-volume series of lessons by teacher and historian Ray Vander Laan, endorsed by Dr. James Dobson of "Focus on the Family." Filmed on location in Israel and Turkey, this is an in-depth video tour of the buried, distant, or otherwise forgotten places where the stories of the Bible actually happened. From this cultural perspective, Vander Laan challenges long-held Western assumptions about even the most well-known Scripture passages. Get a closer look at the early Christian church, on fire with the message of Jesus, literally changing the world. This Sunday morning class meets at 9:30 am is led by Durbin Wagner.
The Adult Bible Class meets in the church sanctuary. Adults reflect on biblical texts and how what they discover their ties to their lives. A brief opening exercise precedes the study. This is strictly a Bible study class that uses the International Sunday School Lesson plans. The topic for the winter quarter is "God's Call to the Christian Community" and is based on the Gospel of Luke. The leader is Jane Hower.
A second Adult Bible Class meets in the Manse at 9:30 am and is led by Pastor Arlene Dunn. This group discussion class is currently discussing the various names of God.
